Elliotsville Foundation, Inc. welcomes the public for respectful and safe recreation at two properties we own, one in Monson, ME, and one in Patten, ME. Maine has a long history of allowing public access on private land for recreation.

Elliotsville Foundation keeps these lands open for public access to camp, ride bikes, hike, and spend time with friends and family. We appreciate your help in maintaining a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone by treating the space with kindness and keeping it clean so the lands can continue to be accessible to the public for free.

Each property has different guidelines for its use. Please see the specifics for each property below.

Peavey Brook Trail System

Peavey Brook in Patten, ME is situated on a 300-acre property with over 5 miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails and winter cross country ski trails currently constructed. The public is welcome to use these trails on foot, skis, snowshoes, mountain bikes, and class 1 ebikes. Please note that ATV and snowmobile trails intersect with the mountain bike and ski trails, but motorized vehicles are not allowed on the mountain bike and ski trails.

Seven Ponds Trail System

Seven Ponds is located in Monson and Elliotsville Township, ME. There are six primitive designated walk-in tenting spots with fire rings and picnic tables, and two day-use areas with picnic tables. In 2024, construction began on a mountain bike trail network. We currently have approximately 2 miles of beginner level single track trails (as determined by IMBA rating standards), which are accessible from the campsites. The public is welcome to use these trails on foot, snowshoes, mountain bikes, and class 1 ebikes. We have plans to build more trails in the coming years.
